Great ideas — those that solve a problem in a unique way — usually happen when two old ideas meet together for the first time. How Design Thinking Improves the Creative Process | Stanford Graduate School of Business

Creativity is the ability to generate new concepts or ideas, starting from existing ones. Reading, informing, researching, and understanding about the world at large and the field in which you wish to work is an important background to create new solutions. It is also a physiological process. When we think in new ways, the body secretes a cascade of dopamine (happiness hormone) which gives us a creative boost.
